The “almost” end of the school year deserve a nice and memorable day, in the second school of Vrontados they decided to organize an excursion. This year the excursion of the whole school was in Lithi, a beautiful beach in the west part of the island. We travelled by bus accompaining the children, the students and the parents of our students.
All of us headed to this beautiful destination for enjoying a nice day in a sandy beach. This beach in particular is very children friendly for the big area of sand in the beach, the fish port and the facilities near by. This allow the children to any kind of sports or even fishing! Together all the children were sharing games and they figure it out many ways of spending our nice time in Lithi. They enjoyed very much the location and take advantage of the sand, the volleyball net and the transparent sea.
As always we wanted them to have a nice time so we also played with them and get to know the parents better. Even the teachers and parents were playing and practicing some sports which made this day really unique, watching all the parts of the school compiting friendly in the games.
Lithi beach, is really near from Lithi town. Located in the west part of Chios Island, and the area is famous fo its excellent fresh fish and the mastic.The beach has very beautiful surroundings and a nice view of a watchtower and the mountains, which make the place really peaceful and ideal for spending time.
It was a perfect place to relax and at the same time we were enjoying the view of the watchtower from the beach, we were aware of how many things happened in Chios Island and how important this beach is for the island, because used to be the main port of Chios in the old times. In this location it is also possible see the fisherboats and the fishermen fixing the boats and their fishing nets. Many of our children learnt some more about fishing or had a walk around so they could appreciate the work of this men.
The day was an opportunity for us to know better Chios Island and also for us, our students, their families and the teachers to spend a nice time together because everybody enjoyed very much the trip.
