Summer is here! After a long and rainy winter, finally the sun came out again and we could finish the maintenance of the boat. We gave it a second coat of color, removed the pillars and also sandpapered and painted those areas. Other tasks were to put up the front sail and also put back the ladder, which we stored inside the boat during the winter.
After all the work was finished, we could put the boat back into the water. For doing that, the workers from the shipyard have a special trailer, which they can adjust specifically to each boat. And then, the moment we waited for so long finally arrived: our sailing boat was back in the water! We directly sailed back into the Marina, our ‘parking lot’. Unfortunately, we discovered that the motor of the boat had a problem. In the following days, we also cleaned the boat and put up the main sail.
Happy about the boat being back in the Marina, we used the chance and spent the night from Saturday to Sunday there. The feeling of sleeping underneath the stars and waking up directly on the boat is just amazing, and we also used the chance for a morning swim.
