On the 29th of May, the first primary school of Vrontados went to the south of the island and spent the day there.
The first stop was the village Olympoi, where the children and their parents had the opportunity to get some drinks or a coffee. Afterwards, we drove to Mesta, where we spent the rest of the day.
Both Olympoi and Mesta are medieval villages and built like a castle, one house next to the other. This construction type was used as a protection against the pirates, as there was only, in case of Olympoi, one entrance to the village. There are also many narrow streets and dead ends, so you might get the illusion of being in a labyrinth while being there.
The children were allowed to explore the villages by themselves and enjoyed that a lot. It was a great experience to go all together to those places.
