On the 5th of October 2018 the 1st, 2nd and 3rd primary schools of Vrontados had an excursion, where the students spent the day outside.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd class of the first primary school went to a near park, where the children were free to play to their hearts content. One of us accompanied them on their way there and back, played with them and of course paid attention that no one got hurt and everyone was having a good time.
The 3rd primary school split up into grade 1-3, who were also joined by one of us, and also went to a near park/playground. Our volunteer’s job was to ensure the safety of the children and make sure that no one gets lost.
At their destination, they also met up with the class 4-6, who went on a hike before, accompanied by one of us who took pictures and helped at difficult parts of the hike. The children of the 2nd primary school also joined at that point. There, the two schools organized games together and in general gave the children freedom to play different games and explore the area. Us volunteers were then watching them and taking some pictures for the schools to use.
Overall the excursions were a great success and around noon everyone went home tired and happy.
