On Thursday 27 October, one day before the actual Οχι-day, we celebrated the National Holiday at school with a small event. Two students from 6th class started the event by reading texts to the audience of students, teachers and parents. The students of the 4th class prepared traditional songs and poems they had learnt by heart. They even danced to some of the songs. At the end of the event everyone sang the Greek anthem. After the celebration most kids went home but the older ones still had one important task. At the monument next to the sea all the schools of Vrontados met and brought selfmade wreaths.
On 28 October we went to the parade in Vrontados where all the schools of the town and some associations marched along the sea. For weeks the students had practised military marching at school.
