On 24 February 2014, the first, second and the third class of the Second Primary School of Vrontados took part in an excursion.
The youngest children visited the Korais Library of Chios.
Inside they saw very old books, chairs, but also a coat of arms of Chios’ most noble families and additionally many medals, stones and fossils.
The worker explained about a history of this exceptional place.
The second and the third class went to the Post Office where they could see what the work of postal workers really means. Afterwards the children visited the Public Art Gallery of Chios. They were fascinated by the colorful paintings of Nikos Yalouris.
That was not the end of the excursion. Young students were also walking around the walls of the Castle of Chios and learning its history.
On the way back all the children entered the stationer’s in Vrontados.
