On 12th of February the 2nd, 4th and 5th class of the Second Primary School of Vrontados went to the flower greenhouse and the sweets factory near Kambos. At first, the bus dropped us of at the huge flower plantation. The greenhouse there contains about 25.000 flowers of three different types. The children were very curious and had many questions which all were answered by the owner of the plantation.
Afterwards he gave flowers to the children and we continued our trip to the sweets factory. The workers there explained how the famous mastiha of Chios is used to produce different kind of sweets. They also showed us the machines which fill the mastiha into plastic cups and pack the cups into cartons. The students listened carefully to the workers and had much fun watching the machines. In the end of the excursion everybody got a cup of mastiha and we returned home in a very good mood.
