The 2nd Primary School of Vrontados visit the last 9th of February a traditional house from Kambos. The excursion was really interesting and amusing for them, because they learnt the history of a Kambos traditional house at the same time they were learning the history of Kambos, the parts of the house and how was the life in the past times in Kambos. The learnt all of this thanks to a riddle game that the staff of the house had prepared for them.
The children had to solve one riddle in every room of the house and if they solve it they will know where to look for the next riddle and they will find an envelope with some things inside, but they could not open these envelopes until the end.
In the end, they had to solve a puzzle and thanks to that they discovered more information about the owner of the house and his family and also thanks to the explanations of the staff they get to know more about the characteristic architecture and life of Kambos.
Inside the house we could admire the impressive ceilings and doors and how they have rebuilt the house but keeping the original style. Also, as is typical in Kambos, next to the house was a land with many oranges trees and around the house, the floor was beautifully decorated with pebbles, elaborated cisterns and magnificent walls.
The children had much fun and this was a really educational excursion, in the end they let their creativity flow and they draw what they liked the most and how they see the region of Kambos now.
