The children are silent, all eyes are focusing on the small paper boat in the jar and even the teacher is curious, what will happen next. This is how our experiment-workshops look like. Some volunteers prepare an experiment, which will be presented to the children. After showing the experiment, it is the pupils turn. The projection at the wall provides three possible explanations for the experiment and the children are supposed to choose the correct one. The crowd of children moves in front of the projection, in order to stop in front of their choice. By highlighting the correct explanation the winners are chosen. The other pupils have no time to be sad, be cause the next experiment is already waiting.
By creating the quiz challenge and showing the experiments live, instead of reading along a chapter in the physics-book, the children learned about the effects of atmospheric pressure, surface tension and other topics around water and by the way: We also did.
Seeing the children being so focused on the experiments and seeing even the teachers expecting the next step, is a great price for the work we had for preparing the workshop, of course in Greek.
