On 10th of March, 2012 the new formed group of 20 children aged between 8 and 15 years learned important things of sailing with an optimist boat.
In the first part, the lesson was held on the foundation’s sailing boat, held by a trainer of the local sailing school. They learned many things, like the boat parts’ names or about different maneuvers.
As on this day the wind was blowing strongly, the sea was uncalm, so – advantageous for the children – the lesson was moved to the close sailing school. From the theoretical to the practical part.
There, the prospective “Junior Captains” had the opportunity to be shown what the have learned in the previous hours. The sailing school’s participants, who are in their age, demonstrated them their skills and what one can do with an optimist.
