On the 24th of March, 2012 another new group of children had the chance to partictipate in the workshop of “Maria Tsakos” Foundation. In this lesson they could gain the knowledge about the mechanics of a ship.
There, they were shown the difference between ships that are used for special purposes and beacuse of that built in special ways.
Moreover, they learned how an engine of a ship works. So, they had the possibility to visit the sailing boat’s motor room, where they got to know about the machines and their functions.
The children were very interested in this lecture and contributed to it by asking many questions and by proving their already existing knowledge.
At the end of that days lesson, the children enjoyed the view from the boat to Chios City’s harbour and its water with the interesting fish in it.
