On Monday 10th of June, the children of the 3rd kindergarten of Vrontados made an excursion to Daskalopetra.
As we arrived at a time the kids normally eat their snacks, the first thing we did was have a small break, where everyone had the chance to eat whatever they had brought.
Once everyone was done the kids were free to play to their hearts content, before we made our way to the small marina in Vrontados. A fisherman was already waiting for us and took his time to not only tell the kids about his work and boat, but also answer their question in detail.
That was however not the end of our excursion. The previous weeks the children in the kindergarten did projects on different kind of fish, the sea in general and most important the pollution of the beaches and the ocean. Equipped with gloves and plastic bags we made our way to the beach where we picked up as much trash as possible.
Before the kids were picked up by their parents the children together with the teachers hand up poster in the area to raise awareness and make people think before they leave their trash lying around.
