Last Sunday, some of us volunteers decided to use the sunny weather and walk to a close village in the North of the island, Lagkada, which is located around 10 kilometres north of Vrontados.
We started after breakfast and enjoyed the nice view. Walking to Lagkada from Vrontados, you walk directly next to the coast, passing Myrsinidiou beach as well as Glaroi beach. As it wasn’t windy but sunny, we could enjoy the great view and even needed to put on sunscreen.
Once we arrived in Lagkada, we were positively surprised by how many people had the same idea as we had as all the restaurants and cafés were crowed and there were even two sailing boats from Turkey in the port. We had lunch at a nice café and started to explore the village a little further afterwards.
On our way back, we stopped at the village Pantoukios, which is even smaller than Lagkada, and had coffee, ice tea and chocolate. Refreshed and strengthened again, we started the last part. We came back home in the evening, feeling exhausted but happy.
