In the last week of March 2012, the primary school decided to do an excursion day. So, always two classes gathered to go together on a day trip through the area of Vrontados.
We, in the role of assisting teachers went with different groups, guarded and guided the children during their excursions.
The first and the third class went together to discover special places in the surrounding area. First stop was the outdoor swimming pool of P.E.K.E.V. and the neighbouring beach Ormos Lo.
After a short lunch break, we went on to see the close two churches. Luckily, our group had the opportunity to go into the church to participate the last ten minutes of the service. The special thing about this church of Agios Nikolaos (who is the saint of the fishermen), is that it is on a rock right above the sea.
The trip went on by visiting the harbour of Daskalopetra with its colourful fisher boats.
In the end, all the classes gathered at the beach of Daskalopetra to spend some hours playing and sharing each others’ experiences that they gained during their trips.
