The same day that the workshop on board of “Mania” the boat of “Maria Tsakos” Foundation started, it was also the beginning of the workshop of the traditional construction of a wooden boat.
There, a group of about 15 children could gain the experience about how to construct a boat of wood in the traditional way with the use of traditional tools.
Each one of the children could take active part in the constructions e.g. by measuring, sawing or nailing pieces of wood.
This workshop was held by the couple Dimitrios Morakis and his wife Elli Papaioannou, who passed their knowledge of the traditional construction of a boat on to the young generation.
