After the Easter vacations, on the 28th of April 2012, the second group of the”Junior Captain” Project was visited by the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA).
An association’s member brought the participating children closer to the protection of the environment and the avoidance of sea pollution. Besides this, the children were shown an experiment which demonstrated them how oil affects sea water.
It was a very interesting lesson for the children were they learned a lot, also what they can do to keep the environment clean. Especially, one film caught their attention; a reportage created by HELMEPA showed how sea pollution causes damage to animals that have their habitats close to the sea.
