On the 17th of March, 2012 the children of the new group had the chance to learn many interesting facts about navigation. They were taught how to do different kinds of sailor knots, as well as how ships behave in strong weather conditions.
The very special part in this day’s lesson was that the children had the great opportunity to visit the neighbouring speed sailing yacht. The boat that already won many races, was very interesting for all of them to see. The owner showed the children in small groups around, especially the inside was fascinating to see for the children.
At the end of the lesson they were shown in many impressive videos which showed them how big tankers or container ships navigate in stormy weather. Moreover, they watched a video that presented them the interior of a big cargo ship.
