Twice per week, one or more of the EVS volunteers went to the building of the 3rd and 8th primary schools of Vrontados.
There they have a ‘Zoo’ with different species of birds for the local children to see. The kinds of birds include different chickens, pheasants, a peacock, special pidgeons and many more.
Our task was to clean the water buckets and to refill the water and food for the birds.
The peacock for example even gets his own special kind of food.
If the birds were very active, we sometimes also evened out the ground in their cages again, because some of them like to dig holes.
More often than not we could also find some eggs, but we usually left them in the cage for the birds to breed them.
One of our recent tries has been a success, and now we have new baby birds.
