On the 28th of October each year the “Oxi Day” is celebrated throughout Greece. On this special day there is held a parade in the central square of Chios City to celebrate the historical day in 1940, when the Greek Prime Minister Metaxas rejected the the ultimatum made by the Italian dictator Mussolini.
At this parade many people took part; the police and army department, nurses, kindergarteners, primary and secondary school pupils, sport clubs, scout clubs and traditional dancing clubs.
For us it was very enjoyable to experience the Greek spirit on this national holiday.
