The last session of the second period of the Junior Captain Project was about the optimists. These are little sailing boats, in which children can learn and practice how to sail.
A trainer of one sailing school showed the children all the parts, how to prepare the sailing boat to put it in the sea and explained how to sail with such a boat. Some children were also able to sit inside the boat and get a first impression how it feels to be an optimist sailor.
The children were also shown photos and videos about sailing races of the little optimists.
Last but not least, they had the chance to visit the big sailing boat of the teacher´s sailing school.
