This week both groups of\nthe 3rd<\/sup> kindergarten of Vrondadhos did an excursion to\nthe \u201cCentre of Enviromental Education Chios\u201d. The group where\nRobert helps went on Wednesday 30th<\/sup> of October and my\ngroup did the same the day after Thursday 31st<\/sup> of October.\n \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a car convoy we made\nour way out to the forest of Omiroupoli where the centre is located.\nThere our tour started with a short walk through the forest to the\nmain building. Because this excursion was all about our enviroment\nthe children were asked to be silent to notice the different sounds\naround them. Later in the center they learnt more about the various\ntypes of birds and animals in the forest but also about the diversity\nof Greek plants. With their new knowledge we made a second walk\nthrough the forest and this time the children were allowed to pick up\nthings from the ground. We ended up with two huge bags full of\nleaves, cones and sticks. To round the excursion up and to prove the\nchildren`s new knowledge the team of the centre played a puppet\ntheatre for them where the main character asked the children for help\nin many questions about the enviroment. Happy and well informed we\nwent home again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
