<\/a><\/figure><\/li><\/a><\/figure><\/li><\/a><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\nNow that\nthe school is finished and summer holidays have started, all the kids start\nplaying on the playgrounds at the schools regularly in their free time. Our\nobjective as volunteers is to spend our time with the children, help them if\nthey have any problems and invent and play games with them. So from Monday to\nFriday we spend part of our afternoon at different schools and entertain the\nkids and take a supervising role, yet we can play just like friends with each\nother. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As soon as\nwe arrive at our schools, kids are already waiting there for us, ready to play\nsome games. Quickly, a lot of children engage in many different activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the\nlanguage barrier is quite big, we often have to explain things with sign\nlanguage and sometimes some of the children can speak a little bit of English\nand translate into Greek to their friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also, one\nday the kids decided to clean the whole place of all the rubbish many kids just\ndrop onto the floor and we managed to fill many trash bags. Almost all of us\nhelped together and collected tons of trash and in just a bit of time, we had\ncleaned the whole schoolyard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
All in all,\nit\u2019s a pure joy to play with the kids and watch them learn new things every\nday, see them communicate and play with each other and the fact that you also\nhave an influence and can help them when they need help makes you feel like you\nare a part of them as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
